The University of Ibadan (UI) has honoured a prominent supporter of President Bola Tinubu, Kehinde Olaosebikan, for his contributions to the establishment and development of the institution’s Sports Academy.
Olaosebikan was presented with the Iconic Friend of the University of Ibadan Sports Academy Award on Tuesday at the headquarters of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-Kehinde Olaosebikan Grassroots Movement in Olomi, Ibadan.
The award was presented by a delegation from the university led by the Chairman of the UI Sports Academy, Prof. Olufemi Adegbesan, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale.
Speaking during the presentation, Adegbesan said the recognition was to appreciate Olaosebikan’s selfless contributions and support towards the establishment of the academy.
He said Olaosebikan’s commitment to sports development and youth empowerment had provided valuable support for the university’s efforts to actualise the vision behind the academy.
Adegbesan stated, “On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K.O. Adebowale, I present this award to Hon. Kehinde Olaosebikan as an Iconic Friend of the Academy in recognition of your selfless service and immense contributions to the establishment of the Sports Academy of the University of Ibadan.”
He added that the university valued individuals and organisations whose support contributed to advancing sports and creating opportunities for young people.
