The Adegoroye Ruling House of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Council Development Area of Lagos State has protested the installation of Mr. Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu as the Onise of Ise, alleging that the process violated an order of the Lagos State High Court.
Members of the ruling house staged a protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly, where they submitted a copy of the court order to the authorities and called for government intervention in the ongoing chieftaincy dispute.
The protesters alleged that Saliu was installed as the Onise of Ise last Friday despite an existing court order restraining the Lagos State Government from taking certain actions relating to the installation.
The Adegoroye Ruling House expressed concern over the alleged disregard for the court order and urged the relevant authorities to intervene to prevent further escalation of the dispute.
The development has added to the controversy surrounding the selection and installation of the traditional ruler of Ise Kingdom, with the protesting family insisting that the legal process should be allowed to run its course.
The family called on the Lagos State Government and other relevant authorities to respect the court’s directive and take appropriate steps to address the matter.
