The immediate past Minister of Power and 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, says the gunmen who abducted his sister and her twin sons in Ibadan have yet to make contact with the family.
An aide to the former minister, Femi Awogboro stated that the family has not received any communication from the abductors since the incident, adding that security agencies are working to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.
Recall that the family of Adelabu confirmed on Wednesday the abduction of his younger sister, Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped at about 7:30 a.m. while John-Paul was taking her children to school in Ibadan.
The assailants were said to have intercepted the vehicle and taken all three victims away.
Speaking on the latest development, Awogboro said no ransom demand or contact had been made by the kidnappers as of the time of filing this report.
He noted that the family remains distressed over the incident, particularly the husband of the victim, who is currently outside the country but expressed confidence in the ability of security agencies to secure their release.
Awogboro appealed to the police and other security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure the safe return of the abducted family members.
