The Lagos State Police Command has identified Inspector Osumah Frank as the officer in a viral video making inappropriate remarks in a public transport vehicle.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said disciplinary action had commenced against the officer in accordance with the established regulations of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Command also distanced itself from the remarks attributed to the inspector, saying the officer’s statements did not represent the official position or views of the Lagos State Police Command or the Nigeria Police Force.
The officer was filmed while travelling in a commercial vehicle in police uniform, making careless, inappropriate and uncultured political and ethnic remarks
The Command affirmed that the Police is committed to transparency, accountability and policing with humility and integrity.
