Deputy Governor of Lagos State and Lagos APC Governorship Candidate for 2027, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat says the state is expanding a unified digital infrastructure to support connectivity, entrepreneurship support, healthcare access, smart-city services, and public safety.
He disclosed this at the PODFEST NAIJA 2026 held at the Harbour Point, Victoria Island when giving a recap of what the Government has been doing in terms of digital connectivity.
The deputy governor said Lagos is set to complete it’s 6,000-kilometer fibre infrastructure target after laying more than 3,000 kilometers fibre infrastructure.
Hamza noted that Fibre connectivity is intended to support faster creator uploads, lower start-up costs, and improved access for schools, health centres, and hospitals.
Hospitals are being linked so patient records can be retrieved across locations using a patient’s name and record number, regardless of where the patient lives.
