The Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced plans to hold its State Congress on Monday, May 4, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s internal structure ahead of future political activities.
The development was disclosed in a statement signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Owolola Adebola.
According to the statement, the congress will take place at Royal Birds Hotel and Towers, located in Alagbaka, Akure, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon.
The party said about 150 delegates drawn from the 18 local government areas of the state are expected to participate in the exercise.
The congress is expected to bring together key stakeholders and party leaders as part of preparations to consolidate the party’s structure in Ondo State.
The NDC also commended its members and stakeholders for what it described as their commitment and cooperation during the recently concluded ward and local government congresses.
According to the party, the support of members ensured the peaceful and successful conduct of the earlier exercises, setting the stage for the forthcoming state congress.
