The Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD) has conducted a joint monitoring inspection of the ongoing construction of the 100-bedded Multipurpose Hospital Complex at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

In a post on its Facebook page on Friday, OTSD said the inspection was led by the Special Adviser/Director-General of OTSD, Engr. (Dr.) John Moyo Ekundayo, FNSE, alongside a multi-agency team comprising relevant stakeholders from the health, works, electricity, water and environmental sectors.

On arrival at the project site, the team was received by the Axial General Manager, Engr. Idowu Babalola, the Project Engineer and other members of the contractor’s team. The Project Site Engineer, Engr. Taofeeq, conducted the delegation around the various sections of the facility, providing detailed explanations of completed works, ongoing activities and outstanding components of the project.

Representatives of the Ekiti State Water and Sewerage Company Limited (EWSCL) informed the joint monitoring team that preliminary work was ongoing on the water reticulation system from the sump located behind the works building to the reservoir at the hilltop.

Similarly, Engr. Afolayan of the Ekiti State Electricity Board (EKSEB) reported that approval had been granted for the connection of electricity from the transformer substation to the power house and subsequently to the hospital facility. He assured the team that the connection works would be completed by the following week.

During the joint monitoring and inspection exercise, observations and recommendations were made to strengthen the workforce and enhance coordination among the various stakeholders involved in the project.

At the end of the inspection, the joint monitoring team expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded on the construction of the EKSUTH 100-Bedded Multipurpose Hospital Complex. The team commended Axial Engineering Construction Limited for the quality of work executed so far and the commitment demonstrated on site, while urging the contractor to sustain the quality of work and intensify activities towards timely completion.
