Three key appointees of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde have officially resigned from the state cabinet. The resignations took effect on Monday.
The affected officials are the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Ayobami Ojo; the Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning, Adegbola Oyeleke; and a member of the state Independent Electoral Commission, Sunday Falana.
According to reports, Ojo, who hails from Ago-Are in the Atisbo Local Government Area of the state, communicated his resignation in a letter addressed to the governor through the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde.
These latest departures follow a string of recent resignations within the administration. In October, the governor’s Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, resigned after more than five years in office. His resignation was closely followed by that of the former Director-General of the state’s Due Process Office, Tara Adefope.
Ogunwuyi, a former member of the House of Representatives, did not publicly disclose his reason for resigning.
Following his departure, Governor Makinde appointed Akinwole Akinwole as his replacement, while Aderonke Adedayo was appointed as the new Director-General of the Due Process Office.
