President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals to the boards and management of 10 federal government agencies and commissions.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced on Monday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Among the appointments, Tinubu named Fayose as Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). He will serve alongside Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta as board members and non-executive directors.
The REA’s Director-General, Abba Aliyu, and the agency’s three previously appointed executive directors will also serve on the board.
The President also appointed retired Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC).
According to the Presidency, the appointments are aimed at strengthening the leadership and governance of key government institutions to enhance service delivery and improve the implementation of the administration’s policies across critical sectors.
The newly appointed officials are expected to assume their responsibilities immediately in line with the President’s directive.
