The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has blacklisted Onifam Laboratories Limited, its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, members of its board of directors, and other affiliated individuals and entities over alleged regulatory violations.
NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, announced the decision in a statement on Monday, saying investigations revealed multiple breaches of pharmaceutical regulations. The alleged offences include regulatory misrepresentation, misuse of NAFDAC approvals and certificates, improper registration and transfer of pharmaceutical products, and attempts to bypass established regulatory procedures.
The agency said the sanctions, which take immediate effect, prohibit the affected company and individuals from participating in any NAFDAC-regulated pharmaceutical activities. They are barred from obtaining licences, permits, certificates, registrations, or approvals, and from operating as manufacturers, importers, distributors, marketing authorisation holders, agents, consultants, or sponsors of regulated products.
NAFDAC said the blacklist will remain in force until further notice, warning that additional legal or administrative actions may be taken where necessary. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing regulatory standards to ensure that only safe, quality, and properly regulated medicines are available to Nigerians.
