The Social Democratic Party, SDP, presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has alleged that the Federal Government is not reporting up to one third of revenue generated from crude oil.
Adebayo made the allegation while speaking on Adamimogo FM Nigeria, where he also vowed to revive the country’s moribund refineries.
He accused successive administrations of deliberately failing to rehabilitate the nation’s refineries, alleging that the move had contributed to the impoverishment of Nigerians.
The SDP presidential candidate also disclosed plans to establish modular refineries, which he said would permanently address recurring fuel shortages in the country, warning that the recent increase in fuel prices could further worsen the economic hardship faced by Nigerians.
Speaking ahead of the 2027 general elections, Adebayo called for greater participation by Nigerians in the electoral process, including voting and protecting their votes, saying this would strengthen the independence of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
He added that the SDP is adopting more diverse and grassroots friendly strategies to increase its visibility and overcome the challenges it encountered during the last general elections.
