Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly died after battling stage-four cancer.
His daughter, Kaira Taiwo, confirmed the development during a live session on Instagram.
The actor’s death comes days after his daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, made emotional appeals on social media seeking medical assistance for their father.
The family had disclosed that Ogogo’s condition had deteriorated and that doctors were no longer able to administer chemotherapy because of his health condition.
They subsequently appealed for alternative treatment options, including specialised medical procedures and other forms of treatment, in a bid to save his life.
Ogogo was one of the prominent figures in Yoruba-language Nollywood, with a career spanning several decades. His death marks a significant loss to Nigeria’s film industry.
